Suncall has a checker built in. Open the app, tap the gear in the top left corner, then Will it ring? — it will show you which permissions are missing and let you fire a test alarm on the spot. Start there.
Three iPhone settings account for most silent alarms, and that screen walks you through all three:
Also worth checking: that the alarm is actually armed on the Alarms tab, and that Suncall is still allowed to set alarms and send notifications in iPhone Settings → Suncall.
Suncall needs the microphone to hold a conversation. If you said no when it asked, or turned it off later, it can still ring but not talk. Turn the microphone back on in iPhone Settings → Suncall.
Check the phone is not face-down or under a pillow, and that nothing else is playing audio. If you are on a call or another app is using the microphone, Suncall cannot listen.
The photo is always optional — you can decline it and keep talking instead. If you would rather it never offered, turn off the camera permission in iPhone Settings → Suncall.
On your iPhone. Suncall has no accounts and no server of its own, so there is nothing stored anywhere else that belongs to you.
Deleting the app removes every morning, every bedtime talk and every photo it kept, because all of it lives inside the app on your phone.
While you are talking to Suncall, what you say is streamed to a speech service so it can be understood and answered out loud, and the words of the conversation go to a language model that writes the replies. A photo you take to prove you are up is checked the same way. Offline, none of this happens — your iPhone does the listening itself. The privacy policy sets all of it out in full.
Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by us, so they are cancelled from your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Suncall → Cancel Subscription. Apple explains it in full under how to cancel a subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Suncall until the period you have paid for ends.
Cancel it the same way, any time before your free trial ends — the exact date is on that same Subscriptions screen. You will not be charged.
Refunds are Apple's to give, not ours — we never see your payment details and cannot issue one. Ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something about Suncall itself went wrong, write to us as well and tell us what happened.
Make sure the iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account you bought it with, then reopen Suncall. If it still asks, write to us with the date of the purchase.
No. There is no sign-up, no password and nothing to log in to.
Yes. Suncall starts with a three-day trial, and after that it is a subscription — yearly, or weekly if you would rather. The price for your country is shown in the app before anything is charged.
Not at the moment. Suncall is an iPhone app.
Write to [email protected] and describe what happened and roughly when. If it was a particular morning, saying which one helps.
